Frequently asked questions - registration

1. If you have a PESEL number, the so called mLegitymacja available in the mObywatel appliation is your primary document confirming your student status. You can activate the mLegitymacja in USOSweb/my studies/mLegitymacja after the start of the academic year. To do this:

  • click "Order mLegitymacja",
  • when the mLegitymacja is ready to download in USOSweb, launch the mObywatel application and add a new student ID,
  • scan or copy the QR code and confirm the action with the activation code.

2. If you do not have the PESEL number, your document confirming your student status will be the ELS (Electronic Student ID Card) in the form of a plastic card. To obtain it:

  • submit an application for the ELS card at the Faculty Dean's Office – you can do this after starting your studies,
  • pay the fee for issuing the ELS card – the account number will be provided by the Dean's Office,
  • send the transfer confirmation to the Dean's Office,
  • Collect your ELS card at the Dean's Office after receiving notification that it is ready to collect.

3. If you have the PESEL number and apart from mLegitymacja you would like to receive the ELS plastic card, follow instructions 1 and 2.

Contact your Dean’s Office and ask for a bank account number.

Payment for the first semester:

  • if you start studies in October – pay until 15 October,
  • if you start studies in February/March – pay until 15 March.

Payment for the next semesters:

  • for winter semester – pay until 30 September,
  • for summer semester – pay until 15 March.

This is the primary identification number that you will use at the University. You will receive it after registration for studies, approximately two days later. If you are staying in a student dormitory, please inform the dormitory office about your student ID number.

If you studied at another university before studying at the AGH University and are wondering whether grades from your previous studies can be transferred, contact the Faculty Dean's Office and ask about the current rules for this procedure.

The basis for transferring grades (or exemption from classes) depends on the consent of the relevant Faculty Dean – this is not an automatic process, and simply passing a course with the same name or a similar study programme at your previous university does not guarantee that the grades will be credited at the AGH University.

Wait for a message in e-Rekrutacja system with information what your album/ID number is. You will
receive it after about two days from registration for studies.
After you get a message, read the instruction of AGH University e-mail account registration. 

You are obliged to set up the AGH University e-mail account and use it for contact with the AGH University departments, lecturers, Dean’s Office etc.

Call and set up a visit. Checkup at the clinic listed above will be free of charge.
Take the AGH University medical referral with you for the checkup.

After the checkup you will receive a medical certificate. Bring it to the Dean’s Office.

You can check your grades and schedule in the student management information system called USOS.

In USOS, you can also:

  • sign-up for elective courses,
  • send an e-mail to your lecturer,
  • apply for a scholarship,
  • attend to other issues related to your studies.

If there is no schedule in USOS or in case of any questions regarding classes – contact your Dean’s Office.

Health insurance is obligatory for all international students during their stay in Poland.

You can do it in:

  • a private company,
  • the National Health Fund (NFZ - public insurance) - you pay monthly contribution.

If you are a non-UE citizen or non-EFTA citizen and you have:

  • Card of the Pole (Karta Polaka) or
  • Polish descent confirmed by Polish Embassy/Consulate,

then your contributions can be paid by the University. In this matter, please contact your Dean’s Office.

Yes - Polish classes are obligatory.

Classes start from the first semester and last:

  • at Bachelor programmes – 2 semesters (60 hours per each semester)
  • at Master programmes – 1 semester (60 hours).

At the time of personal registration for studies in e-Rekrutacja system you will receive a message requesting that you report to the Department of Foreign Languages (SJO) to be added to the group.

You must submit an application and required documents to the Małopolska Voivodeship Office (MUW).
